On October 17, 2016, DeWitt High School students and DeWitt Creativity Group members Brooke Spitzley, Carly Koski, and Jules Fenneuf attended a Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce meeting with Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley (the first high school students to have this opportunity). Attendees at the meeting included several local business, political, and educational leaders who received updates from the Lt. Governor on legislation and other issues throughout the state of Michigan. Additionally, Lieutenant Governor Calley also fieled questions regarding the priorites of the Snyder administration over several areas including K-12 education/talent. As a result of this opportunity, DHS students and teachers (Jason LaFay and Jeff Croley) were able to pose several meaningful questions that were addressed by the Lieutenant Governor. Many thanks to Steve Japinga, Hanna VonAchen, Tim Daman, and others for this great experience for our students!
