This event promises to be an exciting one with members of the DeWitt Creativity Group giving input on the new economy strategies of the state of Michigan. The focus of the summit will be on how Michigan's regional economies can link their broad and varied assets with the emerging New Economy. Featured morning session speakers include: Governor Jennifer M. Granholm, MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon, MEDC President and CEO Greg Main, LPI Director Dr. Soji Adeleja, and MSU Professor Dr. Charles Ballard.
The afternoon session will feature a roundtable dialogue over 50 draft strategies that have been developed through the efforts of Michigan State University and many others across the State of Michigan to achieve prosperity in the state. Input from groups such as the DeWitt Creativity Group will be used to further strengthen the work that is already underway to diversify Michigan's economy, and will help ensure that there is strong statewide and regional collaboration on economic development that can make a genuine difference in Michigan's future.
