Recap of Mid-Michigan Creative Teachers Summit

Summit attendees heard presentations from the following speakers: Jeff Butler, James Jackson, Jeff Smith, Thomas Stewart, Dr. Tim Brannan, Tim Hunnicutt, and Representative Paul Opsommer. Although the presentations varied in subject matter, all of them focused on the importance of education in the new economy. Several area teachers attended the event and provided excellent ideas and feedback on various topics.

In an age of increasing standardization it is vital that education become more creative. Mayor Virg Bernero of Lansing supports this notion. So much so he issued a proclamation the day before the event. March 20, 2010 was "Mid-Michigan Creative Teachers" day in the city of Lansing. The DeWitt Creativity Group would like to thank all of the speakers along with Mayor Bernero, Jamie Schriner-Hooper and Alan Hooper for use of the Temple Building. This will hopefully be the first in a long line of Mid-Michigan Creative Teachers Summits.
