DCG

The DeWitt Creativity Group held a "Spring Poetry Slam" for high school students on May 19th. The event sponsored by Jeff Croley and Stephanie Perez provided students with a safe atmosphere to share works of poetry. The night was full of words, emotions, and laughter as students read and responded to poetry for two hours from 7:00pm  - 9:00pm. There were close to 100 students in attendance. A variety of poetry was shared from Slam Poems to musically inspired works, published and original works, poems for two voices were delivered as well as self reflective works.  Many students commented on wanting to attend future poetry nights. Overall students left feeling inspired and refreshed. The DCG is looking to host a Regional Poetry Slam for area high school students next year.
