A group of 50-60 participants - primarly high school students from five districts - had an enjoyable evening at Scene Metrospace in East Lansing. Notable participants included Eder DeLaCruz and Jeremy Van Hof, two teachers from DeWitt High School. Both gentlemen shared poetry inspired by greats such as Langston Hughes and Dylan Thomas. High School students from various places such as DeWitt, Perry, East Lansing, Okemos, and Haslett attended the Mid-Michigan Regional Poetry Slam. There were several music performances as well. The combined efforts of the attendees made for a great event that will build creative unity across school district boundaries. The DeWitt Creativity Group would like to thank the following individuals and groups for their support: Lansing State Journal, city of East Lansing, East Lansing Technology and Innovation Center, LEAP, Inc. (Lansing Economic Area Partnership), Capital Area Michigan Works!, DeWitt Township, DeWitt High School, Scene Metrospace, and Tim Lane.
